Understanding the Bible/Christianity

*sighs harder* All Atheists comments boil down to the same thing: "I don't know what I'm talking about but what I have to say is sounds right, so I will say it anyway."

How do you think you will get into the golden cube called New Jerusalem if you are not a member of one of the twelve tribes of Israel?

That's the funny part of christianity ^ even if you are a christian you need to be apart of one of the twelve tribes to get into heaven Tongue

Dude with a holy book full of fantastical imagery wants to know the exact, real ramifications of somebody else's holy book and the fantastic imagery therein.

Popcorn
Verbatim from the mouth of Jesus (retranslated from a retranslation of a copy of a copy):

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you too will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. How can you see your brother's head up his ass when your own vision is darkened by your head being even further up your ass? How can you say to your brother, 'Get your head out of your ass,' when all the time your head is up your own ass? You hypocrite! First take your head out of your own ass, and then you will see clearly who has his head up his ass and who doesn't." Matthew 7:1-5 (also Luke 6: 41-42)

Maybe if you have a presupposed conclusion and you don't read so well.

In all your time here Drich, you've never succeeded at anything other than giving me further reason to loathe christianity for it's barbarity and idiocy.  Assuming that your christianity is the true christianity isn't helpful in that regard.

If everyone except yourself is somehow mistaken, perhaps you should let everyone persist in those misconceptions that are less harmful to your faith than your own convictions clearly are? Think of it this way, if it were fairly simple for most of us to pass on an incompetent gods offer, how would arguing for a douche god change that scenario? Is the understanding of god that you're offering truly the understanding of god you wish for others to have? I doubt it. I doubt it because you seem to have an understanding of god that is not supported by your own comments, your "arguments" backfire on you constantly, leaving the audience with an impression that you clearly disagree with and waste further effort arguing against.

There's no sense in painting god as an unfathomable prick if that's not what you want others to believe about god. It doesn't help, and it's no correction in the first place. Understand?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I trust first century metaphysics with the same confidence that I trust first century medicine.

Not much.
So how, exactly, does God know that She's NOT a brain in a vat? Huh

From what I've seen so far, it appears that a lot of this forum's members are former Christians, and although they no longer believe in God, any one of them ought to be able to give you the answer to this question:

Romans 3:28-30
28 For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law. 29 Or is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles too? Yes, of Gentiles too,30 since there is only one God, who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through that same faith.

Do you have an example of one of these many 'back fires?"
