I know it's a tall ask to ask anyone to watch hour and half two hour movie for the sake of debate. That's not what I'm doing here I am providing a resource for those who want an honest look at what evidence their is for the exodus. In this film every major point before and after the exodus is examined and what they have found out there in the sand.

I say an honest look because this the evidence and theory that binds the evidence has holes. Those holes are identified and discussed. ultimatly it is up to you to look at all the evidence and decide for yourself.

I've been pretty much mystified the entire time...I always thought that Drich was a chapter and verse kind of guy.  Never expected to see him sourcing his revelations from Netflix........wtf?

If you bothered to watch the movie, idk maybe to speak accurately rather than just randomly, you'd note that they had a rabbi quoting book chapter and verse and they pairing that with the Egyptian records or archeological finds.

I tried, before this thread ever popped up.  It's been a slow few months on netflix.  Bored me to sleep.  I had to go read their executive summary.  Even had I not watched or read it, we've discussed it...... for 60 pages.

And merely saying, "There's no evidence" when all six sequential markers have been documented archaeologically, strikes me as a failure to make a case of your own.

Your next dodge will be to claim that each of the six was dissected and disproved in the previous 60 pages, and that you don't want to repeat yourself...but I've been through all 60 and no, you never meticulously worked through each of the six events documented by Mahoney in the film showing why they could not possibly be related to the Exodus.

I know how the forum game is played. It's just not that much fun to play with people who aren't actually interested in pursuing the truth wherever it leads.

Being paid can happen and one still be considered a slave. For instance .35 cents per hour is not proper 'remuneration' for the worked demanded. Also people sign quartly or even yearly contracts that demand x amount of hours worked per week or quotas being met before they are released.

If you aren't willing to spend the time to watch the movie, take some notes, and have an intelligent conversation about the material, then you're just spamming the thread.

OTOH, if you do want to consider the points made in the film, and engage in a civil discussion about what Mahoney did or did not get right, fine. Let's do that.

What is pointless is when people lob, "No Evidence!" posts into a middle of a thread which exists specifically to examine claims about evidence which may or may not be pertinent to the Exodus.

Thanks for arguing by way of reassertion and you're right..I'm merely going to refer you back to the pages which precede this one.  You abandoned any pretense regarding a search for truth when you decided that the manner in which to do so was to lie for christ.

Hmm, I just realized that if Drich really does think the Exodus happened as written, it exposes yet another contradiction. Drich says there is no free will, yet the stories clearly state God "hardens the heart" of the Pharoah. He does this to make him refuse to free the slaves, so he can continue to justify to himself sending down more cruel plagues.

This clearly implies that the Pharoah would normally have had at least some other choice he could have made.

No free will does not mean we don't have any choices.

Even slaves have choices. If a 17th century slave is told it is ok for him to pick out a wife and marry, does he not have the ability to do what he has been allowed to do? Now just because the slave has been given the right to pick out a wife does it mean his master will allow him to pick out a boy/man for his mate? what if he decides to just rape all the women in the pool of potential wives.. do you think the slave owner would allow that? No. But again that is what 'free will' is. It is complete autonomy apart from God's ultimate boarders he has placed on our lives. we do not have this ablity.

You are mistaken free will with freedom to choose what God has allow us to chose from. In the case of pharaoh that was taken away when God hardened his heart.
