"There ought to be a term that would designate those who actually follow the teachings of Jesus, since the word 'Christian' has been largely divorced from those teachings, and so polluted by fundamentalists that it has come to connote their polar opposite: intolerance, vindictive hatred, and bigotry." -- Philip Stater, Huffington Post

Adrian and I have discussed some changes we can make and you will see those changes implemented soon enough, including subforums in Religion

I see that the changes have now been implemented. Problem solved. Many thanks to Eilonnwy and Adrian.

Indeed. Took me half an hour to move relevant posts to the Christianity subforum. I'm sure I probably missed some, but I'm not too worry about.

Nicely done. I like the new layout. I have one issue, though. Once I go read all of the new posts in Religion and it's child forums and head back out to the index... the Religion forum still claims to contain unread posts. I have to go back inside, verify that there are not any new posts, and then head back out, before it is marked 'read'.

I really like those little buttons that let you mark the sub-forum 'read'. Could those be added to the main forums?

The Atheism (News and Activism) forums do the same thing. Not just the Religion forum.

If you click the forum icon: [Image: on.gif] it will mark the forum as read.

As for the problem of the forum still being unread. Are you clicking the back button in your browser, or clicking a link on the site? You shouldn't use the back button if you want it to change. If you do, just refresh the main page.

Yeah, I found out about clicking the forum icon. I never realized it did that. Heheh.

I'm not clicking back. I'm using the links. If, say... there is a new post in Christianity... the Religion forum icon is dark. If I go in and read the new post (and there are no others)... and click the link to the index page... the Religion forum icon is still dark (as if there is a new post). I have to enter the Religion forum... see that there are not any new posts after all... and then click the link to the index again.

No biggie, really. I'll get used to it.

If it's the religion forum then isn't it all religious bullshit? What is the "everything else" section for?

And what the fuck is 'Atheism' doing in the religion forum when it's not a religion :p
