You can always un-ignore someone so might be worth experimenting. People aren't alerted when they are placed in ignore.

I see every one of Drippy's threads. Can't speak to the shout box since I never use it.

I've never put anyone on ignore. It would seem doing so draws more attention to the ignored's post than not.

RE: Blocking
LastPoet, sometimes a person's posts are so resoundingly terrible that putting them on ignore isn't a deprivation. It's a rise in your standard of living.

RE: Blocking
It prevents you from seeing posts. I blocked one person but found it obnoxious, every post would say 'you have this person blocked, click to see their post' or something like that. So I unblocked them. Really I think it's pretty silly, it's sort of like plugging your ears and going 'i don't want to hear what you have to say'

Also my emotional maturity is over 10, so I can read what somebody has to say on an internet forum and not get get butthurt.

RE: Blocking
I don't block people as a matter of principle.

Funny, I didn't mind this at all when I blocked a user. The semi-annoying part of the process was that the notice saying that the person had posted but their post is hidden because I had them blocked was colored a different color than the rest of the page so it was like a little flag every time I would scroll down a page.

But after a while I stopped noticing.

And then he got the boot.

Are you talking about Despondent?
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
