The Future
RE: The Future
Or maybe you don't. Either way, zero fucks given. You're not interested in having a proper conversation, you're interested in passive-aggressive nitpicking and obfuscating.

If you're going to make claims about evolution, you'd goddamned well better understand the basics. If you don't, you deserve to be pulled by the short hairs.

That's bullshit and you know it.

Oooh, you told me!

No, seriously, you who hand out book recommendations all the time, take one this time. Go read up on evolution before you talk about it. Speaking out of ignorance only makes you look foolish.

Educate yourself on a topic before you talk about it. Don't whine when your ignorance is exposed, or as in this case, self-admitted.

Not so. I've tried to discuss matters with you civilly and with substance, but you've brushed aside a perfectly valid point with no basis for your dismissal, and then after admitting your own ignorance of basic evolutionary terminology, took offense at being told to educate yourself.

Clearly trying to have a decent conversation with you is a waste of time, and I won't make this mistake again.

You go own ahead and believe what you wish, I don't care if what you think about evolution is right or wrong. As I said, I'm thankful your education is not my responsibility, because your certainty of your own rectitude is the surest obstacle to your own learning. Only you can remove it, yet you willingly reinforce it.

Have a great life, let me know how this approach works out for you.

Wait, on the other hand, don't bother. I don't care.

I never say something I haven't heard from actual experts, in one form or another, Thumpa, not that confidently.

An appeal to unnamed authorities without any relevant citation, and no mention of the specific claim being supported.

That's certainly useful.

Ok, well, I'll take that as I knew it was coming anyway. It's a fair point. As is mine about your making me read a number of books before I can have this argument with you instead of you actually explaining to me what you mean and not showing off your "education" on the topic. I will perhaps read those books, but I'm not going to start right now just to have this argument with you. I think there's no going forward on this particular point, all things considered.

lol, you suggest books all the time, and here you are complaining when someone suggest one -- one -- to you.

You're not interested in learning, nor are you interested in discussing.

I will never make the mistake of engaging you earnestly again.

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him think.

You're right. Thanks for the recommendations, I will read that book and come back to you for more suggestions, if you please.
