RE: paralysis
Oh, so ultimately this whole thread is about atheism vs., Christianity. Gotcha.

I do need evidence to be a Christian. Full stop.

I see. Thanks Jehanne.
This is the only self-consistent statement so far from an atheistic point of view.

Any other possible explanations?

By the way, just for the record, the scenario I posted completely appalls me.
But I just wanted to learn more about the evidence that other world views provide to support their case.

Of course, such individuals are full of life, and they have so much that they can add to my life, so much and inspiration that they can bring to a World that is so full of suffering.  Besides, the next breakthrough might be in someone's lab right now, and they are simply finishing-up their research.  Some animals can regrow lost limbs, which, eventually, science will figure out to do with humans.

Yeah, I was just trying to say something as stupid as what you're saying.

Not possible.

TS, is stuck in this mindset where atheists are a caricature.
Binary thinking all the way! It's us vs them!

You do realise that it's morons like you who give the good Christians a bad rep.
Don't take our word for it, ask them?

Don't tell me? They're not true Christians? Lol!

I believe it took a whole lot less infirmity than in your scenario for the christian god to decree death. You don't happen to know any of those passages by heart do you?

PS: Are you reincarnation of Athrock? Christian trying to hide out as something else? Remember, god does not like intentional deceit.

I want your opinion on the following scenario.

Lets assume there was a completely disabled human being who needs major help through all daily activities.
This human being is under the following condition:
  • He/she has no job whatsoever
  • He/she has zero friends and zero family members
If you are an atheist, can you give me a reason (other than legal issues) of why this person should not be killed as to free more resources (money, time, hospital space, etc) for the rest of the community?

Bong

Why is it that people always want to know an "atheists" opinion on non-religious matters? How about just asking PEOPLE for their opinion since this doesn't seem to be a religious question.

A person who is, according to your term, "completely disabled", still has the right to life. There are plenty of programs out there in which the person could make friends. There are many agencies that offer companionship in addition to hospice or home care services.

Besides, you aren't telling the whole story here. What if that person was an American, worked 40 years, got in a terrible work related accident? Still having no friends or family, wouldn't matter given that it was an accident that happened at work, the company would be responsible for the injuries caused to their employee while at work. Perhaps the employee carried long and short term life insurance. In that instance, the "community resources" you claim would be used, aren't used at all. That is exactly what the life insurance will pay for.

There are far too many scenarios that you aren't giving us (ALL forum members, not just atheists), that no good answer will do.

Yet again, the repackaging or rephrasing of the same tired fucking question."Caw, caw..How do atheists know right from wrong? Caw!... Where do they get their morals?...Polly wants a cracker...Caw, caw, caw!"

*sigh*
So predictable. Rolleyes
