When is the industrial hell going to end?

It's the implementation. You can't simply roll back what has been established. Someone said that about nukes at some point. They're there, we have to deal with them. Same goes for industry. People won't go back just because it's reasonable to have less.

True. Even I, though I recognize the excess, hesitate to let someone else decide what I do and don't need. "Why do you need two pairs of shoes when you only have one pair of feet?" "Think of all the money people would save on reading glasses if you didn't waste your time writing books." If humans could just strike a balance instead of going from one extreme to the next.

If we approach it more as integration than regression, it would be more palatable.
The god who allows children to be raped out of respect for the free will choice of the rapist, but punishes gay men for engaging in mutually consensual sex couldn't possibly be responsible for an intelligently designed universe.

I may defend your right to free speech, but i won't help you pass out flyers.

To counter your racism, allow me to introduce to you the civilization of Muslims in Europe Big Grin

Behold: the ancient Mosque of Cordoba which was crusaded and turned into a cathedral but that's cool; Muslims did the same to Christians so...

So much for "desert goats" ...right?

Mmmm let's discover more stuff:

Quoting wikipiedia:

Quote:One detail of the arabesquescompleted towards the end of Muslim rule of Spain by Yusuf I (1333–1353) and Muhammed V, Sultan of Granada(1353–1391), the Alhambra is a reflection of the culture of the last centuries of the Moorish rule of al-Andalus, reduced to the .

And now; I hope you love coffee, because:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coffee

Quote:The earliest credible evidence of coffee-drinking appears in the middle of the 15th century in the Sufi shrines of Yemen.[6] It was here in Arabia that coffee seeds were first roasted and brewed in a similar way to how it is now prepared.

You're an ignorant savage; so please don't "pollute" my brain with hate speech and racism.
When the whole world was living in the "dark ages", my "Muslim desert" ancestors were drinking coffee in the mansions you see above.

Here; listen to some ancient Arabic music played by Arabs;with Islamic lyrics:

At 7:18 she begs for God's forgiveness.

The best you have is "people in the 12th century who were as besotted as I am in the 21st did actually made things that were pretty nice, for the 12th century, therefore it is good to be besotted"?

Sorry, we actually leave foot prints on the moon and explore elementary particles now.  We make things that are actually nice even for the 21st century, we no longer need to troop out what we did in the 12th century as if that could justify why we didn't do, but should have done, in the 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, and the 21st centuries.

We no longer worship the crescent, or another idiotic totem like it, because our minds were too stuck at the size of a goat's ass hole to be able to figure out how to actually progress beyond the Iron Age.

The modern world is too selfish to part with their cheaply-made products to save the environment. Producers want to spend as little as possible. All people who care can do is continue to preach, but there is no stopping anyone without making more legal restrictions on how and where things are made.

Humans need to stop breeding like rats.  Our sheer numbers are a blight on this planet.  If 99% of the worlds population disappeared, we would still have 72+ million humans on the planet.  Every sperm is sacred my ass.

Cute..   My wife and I have already done our part--by choice.

What I was getting at isn't a difficult concept, but I'll spell it out anyways.

I'm not suggesting that 7+ billion people need to go out tomorrow and commit suicide, but this planet does have a finite number of resources.  Humanity as a species isn't eking out a tenuous survival against extinction.  We don't need to be "fruitful and multiply" any longer.  In my opinion, this has two possible endings if we keep on this path.  The first ending is with nature doing a reset... on us..  In the form of a pandemic.  The second is with humans polluting, overpopulating, causing climate change, and causing the extinction of every creature on this planet.  Our ability to inflict damage has a direct correlation with world population.  More people, more damage.

The earth-sheltered building designs you mentioned are excellent examples. They aren't useful in all climates but they would be terrific where I live: Phoenix, AZ USA. Summer cooling costs could be reduced dramatically and winter heating eliminated altogether.

I guess the sun there is such a big advantage. Coming from a desert land myself, I just appreciate the landscape of the state -even though seeing it only on google images & wikipedia ><-, but being rich in plants + sunlight, with a decent average temperature, something great could become out of it.

Trees absorb heat and solar energy can generate the proper cool whether needed to survive, I don't know about heat though..that would be a problem

The price of climbing up the industrial ladder so fast.
Nice, clean guys finish last indeed..

I can say it's a pit full of snakes; so everybody are on their high horses (or let's say tigers), because coming down means too many snake bites, and to make the tiger immune, more money & pollution is payed; but the tiger would eventually fall, along with the knight...and that would be the heritage of atomic weapons and decades of military spending..

The leaders know, and the people are asleep, enjoying blind hate and celebrity news, ignoring the upcoming disaster.

Ah, and this..I really shouldn't stress on it that much, the medical field for example did grow so big, and reliefed people of so many problems, but new health came with the industrial era too..
An integration of the industrial age with nature though, is something new, yet familiar..we still get to keep our high-tech (maybe even higher tech?); at the same time we get to live a healthy lifestyle, along with saving our planet.

Ew!
That ego ! you should've warned me so I put my mask on before reading that!

So full of yourself >< ancients worship Zeus, you worship flags, potato, potato, cats, kittens, ummmm..
Now I ask you: all you have, is bragging about going to the moon, based on the theories and science the ancients contributed to so much?

Btw, zero is an ancient indian invention, rockets are an ancient Chinese invention too.  Angel

Limiting our freedom, so we smell some fresh air..That's the same excuse all dictator regimes use to get to you, first let me save the environement by "collecting regular taxes from you", tomorrow it's "you have to pay a fee for saving pinguins in the arctic !", eventually it will be "join the military".

Kosh

I believe there would be a room for everybody, if we just learned to share and give, instead of applying nationalism, and isolating each other inside our little societies, each proud with a piece of colored cloth, and few pennies.

The more humans there are the more geniuses there are.

The problem is that as the number of geniuses increases the number of innovations increases which reduces the need for basic manpower. Consequently billions of people become surplus and become total consumers and not useful producers. So at that point it becomes necessary to thin the herd with a mass kill-off.
