Of course. The primitive, ignorant and cynical motherf*ckers, who wrote the damn bible, in order to exploit stupid people. You know - those c*nts. Duh!

Homeless Nutter,

Do you believe the people who made The Bible thought they should put in God doing evil things to convince people he's not evil and they should want to serve him ?

If you give an answer which appears to show a weakness of being arrogant I may choose not to answer you if I think it doesn't benefit everyone, why should I waste my time with people who have that weakness and don't want to be stronger ?

No, I don't think some person went and added all the bad bits and that without those it would be the perfect word of God. Obviously the whole thing was written by people.

No one person has any more right than any other in principal to claim that they are a Christian or that anyone else is not, so you have to take it on a case by case basis when talking to an individual. However, one can still speak generally about the Bible and about common themes in Christianity.

I'm not sure what your point is though?

I think an equally important question is - if you had the chance, would you have saved Gandalf from falling at the bridge of Khazad Dum in the mines of Moria after his confrontation with the Balrog. Bear in mind that his subsequent titanic battle with the aforementioned Balrog was instrumental in his transformation from Grey into White.

That's a good question. I guess I would let Gandalf fall. As for Jesus, I don't really know how to answer that. Because what was he like? Which of the writings that we have today actually represent what he said? Any of them?

If he was going around telling people that the only way to be a good person was through him, and that everyone else was damned to hell for eternity, well, I wouldn't be happy about him getting crucified, but I wouldn't exactly be surprised, either, if you know what I mean. A guy who goes around saying stuff like that in the ancient world is not going to enjoy a long, happy retirement.

If he was the guy who said, "Let him who is without sin cast the first stone," and who said it wasn't a woman's fault if men lusted after her, and that if the men had a problem with women causing them to lust they could fix it by plucking their own eyes out--I would save that guy.

One person I would definitely save though is Han Solo. That was just sad.

Veritas Vincit,

If someone said to you that they are a Christian and that they hate Jesus Christ, do you think you would be wrong in saying that's not how a Christian should talk and you aren't being a Christian ?

Do you think you can prove it to us that someone didn't add all the bad parts and that it wouldn't be perfect without them ?

Thomas

Point 1: they wouldn't be right or wrong, but most Christians would disagree with them. They would be an exception to the rule, and they would be contradicting the Bible so it would be on them to demonstrate that they are correct.

Point 2: it doesn't matter if I can prove that someone didn't because the burden of proof is on the person making the claim - until you can demonstrate that a person DID go and add all the bad bits to the Bible, no one else is rationally justified in believing it. So, I won't believe it unless you can prove it.

It must have been some sneaky guy to get past god's watchful eye.

I told him to hire Sauron while he napped.

Do you believe that what seemed like good things to some evil, primitive, ignorant people long time ago is perhaps now perceived as evil? Son't you see, that if your god existed and was good, then good should be the same for all good people? Do you believe, that slaughtering babies in the name of god is good? Do you believe that OUR LORD SATAN, THE LORD OF THE FLIES IS YOUR PERSONAL MASTER AND SAVIOR?

Seriously - what have you been smoking? You speak like the Cheshire Cat f*cked the Riddler on crystal meth ... Get help, son. Huh

Now, jog on.

But do you think you would be right, being logical to think someone who said they were a Christian and said they hated Jesus Christ and you went to other people and told them that, that person is a Christian ?

You might think it's fair to think that if someone makes a claim then sometimes it's right of a person who didn't make the claim to show how it's false and that if a person makes a claim saying something is false and doesn't have the evidence to prove it they should never claim it.

I'm willing to put forward for your consideration so you might think of what the truth is about The Bible.

Because it's such a long explanation and needs to be explained by someone I think it's best to do it in small parts at a time.  Do you want me to ?

Veritas Vincit, you may look at my answers above.
