That's probably the biggest problem I have with religion: people justify their own bigotries by pointing to this or that passage in the "holy book" of their choice, which just coincidentally happens to support their own bullshit views. The pass most people give religion means that the bigot remains justified in the minds of too many people.

Almost half, 45 percent of British muslims believe that clerics preaching violence represent mainstream islam. Also in Britian almost two thirds, right at 67 percent say they would not report a terrorist to police. So in other words, its pretty close to the majority, in a few years time, it will be.  In each case these numbers equate to hundreds of thousands of people that would love nothing more than to take your life as an atheist. Maybe its time to quit fantasizing about that "Christian theocracy" that you pretend to rebel against.  It doesn't exist.
