Definitely watch your puppy for allergic reactions. I don't think there's any need to remove the color but you do need to rinse his/her face very carefully to get the dye out. Leaving dye in for a long time will irritate the skin.

On a side note, a friend and I mixed blue koolaid with conditioner when I was a kid and dyed her white cat blue. Her parents were not amused. He stayed blue for about 6 months and then he was green for a bit.

Please understand my concern as I'm on the senior level side of cosmetology school right now and having actual, live clients now, my level of learning is greater than what it was in pre-salon class. I'm all too well aware of what boxed color can do to not only a person's hair but their skin as well. Imagine what effects it can have on a dog. Hopefully none of that stuff got in your pet's eyes.

He seems absolutely fine, his skin looks normal and I will definitely keep an eye on him for the next few days. If anything changes I will go and see the vet.

We do something called a patch test on all clients who have never had a color service with us before. We give them 24 hours, so I would think that's fine for a pet as well.
