I'll echo what everyone else said: don't make any announcement until you're financially independent.
That said, one of the cool things about college (whenever/where ever you actually go) is that you'll likely find a ton of like-minded people. There may even be an atheist club of some sort. So, you'll probably have ample opportunity to talk/vent/laugh with the real thing in person, which is awesome. I'm actually kind of envious. I miss my college days.
