Quote:Trump Taj Mahal closes its doors in Atlantic City

Quote:The Taj opened in April 1990 and had financial problems almost immediately, according to an analysis by CNN of documents Trump filed with state gaming authorities.

Trump financed it with junk bonds and could not cover their payments with profits from the gaming operations. On four of the Taj's first 16 days of operation, its bank account contained less than $0, with deficits as deep as $1.7 million, according to a New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement report from 1990.

I have never understood why certain people consider Trump some sort of financial genius.  He's squandered a ton of his dad's money, and has numerous, high profile failures attached to his name.  His brand has been synonymous with gaudy, chintzy crap for decades.  His rise to popularity in the last decade stems from NBC giving him a reality show so he could chastise other D-list celebrities.  It had nothing to do with his business acumen (such as it is).

Just because someone has money, it doesn't mean they're successful.

It all depends on how you measure the success of a "businessman". If a businessman is successful when they make a lot of money, then Trump has been immensely successful. However, if a businessman is successful when they manage to grow their business, provide for their employees, and create lots of jobs, then Trump is a complete failure. He squanders money in his businesses, causes them to fail, mis-uses bankruptcy laws, ruins the lives of his employees, and often refuses to pay them for their work.

Quote:‘Expert’ Carrie Fisher says Trump’s sniffles are ‘ABSOLUTELY’ a sign of cocaine use

Quote:Fisher responded to one fan's query about Trump's sniffling with an assertion that the noises were related to cocaine use.
"Tell me something about that sniffle…coke head or no?" asked the fan.
"I’m an expert & ABSOLUTELY," replied Fisher, adding the all-caps emphasis.

I dont even care whether or not he likes a little blow. I'd wanna joe up before I faced a man-eater like Hillary, too(fuckin idiot if you didn't, the woman's good at what she does).  That he's Donald Trump, nominee for president is far more disconcerting, to me, than any drug use.

See, I don't blame him for whatever faults he has. I don't blame him for being the piece of shit that he is...that's just who he is, take it or leave it. What I can't fathom, for an instant, is why anyone would elect him commander in chief. That shit means something to me, in ways that enjoying a line...or two or three or ten.....just don't.

I think he's good at branding himself, a very specific kind of "business".  He's complete shit at most standard kinds of business, though.  He's developed a true cult of personality  If he passed out the cool aid, his followers would surely drink it and force feed it to their kids, while everyone else sat in utter bafflement.

Quote:The floodgates open: Women call Gloria Allred alleging ‘inappropriate contact by Mr. Trump’

Quote:Civil rights lawyer Gloria Allred said this week that women have begun contacting her with allegations that they were sexually harassed or abused by Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

Quote:In a statement released last week, Allred revealed that Trump had once told her that she “would be very very impressed” with the size of his penis.

I imagine in short order Allred will cut off his balls.

Even that is up for debate. He already started out a rich man, subsidised by dad, pulled out of the shit he created by dad and turned into dad's heir later on. Noone can really say how much he really made under his own steam. He claims to be a billionaire, but the jury's still out on that.

He's very well off, that's for sure. But what part his own exploits played in his fortune is anyone's guess.
