Bill Maher Spells It Out

Indeed, Muslims will grow more than twice as fast as the overall world population between 2010 and 2050 and, in the second half of this century, will likely surpass Christians as the world’s largest religious group.

You know how ambiguous that argument is? First - likely within the next 34 years is looking into a crystal ball, since all kinds of shit can happen in that many years. Same with economical predictions. I still remember the estimated growth between 2007 and 2008. Well, until the crash happened they may have had a point. But shit happens, doesn't it?

Secondly, christians are a shrinking group, since they mostly live in the first world where people turn away from religion in droves. One of the reasons why the Vatican is looking for Asia and Aouth America for expansion as well as the Evangelicals. The majority of Catholics doesn't live in Europe of the USA anymore but in other parts of the world.

Third, it says nothing on Asia.

And fourth, your argument of having three or four wives is as ignorant as they come. For one there are laws in many muslim countries against poligamy, same as with mormons in the USA, who can't practice that tradition either. And secondly, how many women are supposed to live in muslim majority countries? Three or four times as many in relation to men as the average male/female birth ratio, which always was pretty much at 50 percent?

There's also a reason why people in the third world tend to reproduce at a higher ratio than in the first world. Infant mortality is still a much larger problem than in our parts. And that not only goes for majority muslim countries but for every part of the third world. Apart from children being sort of an old age provision for many of these countries, which don't have any social security system to speak of. The children are supposed to take care of the parents as they always did in these parts of the world.

I'm not afraid; I think the good ideas win out. How about you?

The Drumpf campaign is a persuasive argument against that conclusion.

Even the Quran says, only if they can sustain them. But that aside. Think the poligamy thing through and you will see it's bullshit of the highest order. Where should all the wives come from? I'm pretty sure that the female birth rate doesn't surpass the male birth rate by a factor of three or four in these countries.

Hey, you better quit that reasoning stuff!

A group either reproduces or they die out. Simple math is simple.

Silly. Religion, transmissible by culture, is not so far as we know genetically predisposed. Indeed, a big issue amongst American Muslims is that their children, raised here, are also falling away from their own faith. Simple math is not really so simple, thanks to non-mathematical thinking.

The expected growth of Islam around the world is perhaps the most striking finding in the recent Pew Research Center report projecting the future of religious groups. Indeed, Muslims will grow more than twice as fast as the overall world population between 2010 and 2050 and, in the second half of this century, will likely surpass Christians as the world’s largest religious group.

Islam Growing FastestWhile the world’s population is projected to grow 35% in the coming decades, the number of Muslims is expected to increase by 73% – from 1.6 billion in 2010 to 2.8 billion in 2050. In 2010, Muslims made up 23.2% of the global population. Four decades later, they are expected to make up about three-in-ten of the world’s people (29.7%).

Do these projections take into account the current war between Shia'a and Sunni -- a conflict bound to alienate youngsters grown up in war-zones and tired or the shooting? And -- being in the countries where they are, how much influence might they wield in the wider world?

The fact is that the vast majority of victims of Muslim terrorism are themselves Muslim. How do you think they might assail the outer world while at the same time they're involved in internecine warfare?

They stormed the shitter first -- shock troops, as it were. But what does that have to do with my point? The fact is that Trump is manufacturing a narrative to explain what he himself realizes is his imminent defeat.
He is involved in a prolonged surrender ... because he knows he will lose.

I don't give a shit about the other 16 turds -- they've already been flushed.

Despite being the biggest turd in the bowl, Drumpf emerged with the nomination.

Consider the ramifications of that.

It means the battle isn't over. Okay. That's one party, one faction, and one clearly in the minority at this point. They're losing. Continue the campaign -- not Presidential, the social campaign -- and don't take counsel in your fears. We've got this. As the turds drop out, so will they be flushed.

There's plenty of us with the stamina to see it through, at least until we can hand off the torch. Failure in my lifetime is not failure; this is a long march.
