The coal mining industry jobs in areas around Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ohio has nose dived even more over the last 8 years of Barack Obama, and Hillary even commented about putting the miners out of work.

The thing about this is, the coal mining industry is going to end sooner or later, because either we're going to run out of coal, or people are finally going to become aware of just how much damage to the environment it does. Industries rise and fall; we don't have a chariot building industry anymore, the newspaper industry is collapsing at the moment, but I don't see politicians trying to do anything about that. There's a reason for that: the newspaper industry has been replaced by a better industry, online news. Coal mining is being replaced by better industries too, like solar, wind, nuclear, etc.

Clinton's comment about putting miners out of work, in context, is actually a positive thing:

So for example, I'm the only candidate which has a policy about how to bring economic opportunity using clean renewable energy as the key into coal country. Because we're going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business, right?

And we're going to make it clear that we don't want to forget those people. Those people labored in those mines for generations, losing their health, often losing their lives to turn on our lights and power our factories.

Now we've got to move away from coal and all the other fossil fuels, but I don't want to move away from the people who did the best they could to produce the energy that we relied on.

Bolded the important part. Industries end, whether naturally or as a result of social / economic change. The important bit that politicians can do is ensure that those people in the industry left without jobs are supported.

I don't think anyone is painting them as "only" being racists, xenophobes, and sexist. The problem is they supported a candidate who has said things both openly and privately that are racist, xenophobic, and sexist. If you choose to support an asshole because you think he'll make your life better, that's absolutely fine, but you are still supporting an asshole, and no amount of reasoning is going to negate that.

People keep making the argument that Trump supporters would have done the same thing and that those that don't have this view are incredulous. This is of course a counterfactual which can never be proven. I think those making these claims would at least make a couple observations:

1. If racist bigots were ever going to protest and march in opposition to an election result it would have been after Obama's first election. It didn't happen. This does not mean that there weren't racists and bigots that weren't equally upset, just that large public displays of dissatisfaction isn't part of their MO. Instead, I recall there were stories where they made a run on ammo.

2. During the campaigns, it was Democrat supporters that physically showed up at Republican events to disrupt proceedings as a means of protest. Republican supporters did not.

I don't want my contribution here to be misconstrued. I am by no means arguing that had Clinton won that there wouldn't be Trump supporters calling for Clinton's head and have their complaint siren turned up to 11; I just don't ascribe to the notion that they would have taken to the streets in protest as we are seeing from disaffected Clinton supporters. I also don't think Trump supporters would burn flags as a means of protest, although I couldn't count out some cross burning in smaller invitation only gatherings outside of town.

According to the news reports it seems that the millennial vote was really down this election. I wonder, how many of those millennials who are rioting actually showed up at the polls to vote?

Given all of the hostility and talk of revolution and rigged elections, I don't think it's unreasonable to think they wouldn't have just gone quietly into the night.

No, what those kids need to do is get off fucking Twitter and vote. They need to get their friends tp vote. There's a mid-term in two years that will be vital in order to stop the Supreme Court from sliding completely conservative and undoing the progress of the last fifty years.
