Not really.

The actual thing done isn't worrying, I agree. It's just the idea that the very first time that this President sends his White House Spox out, it is to tell an easily provable lie. That is worrisome, because if Trump's ego is so fragile that internet memes and crowd statistics are on his radar for things to respond to, we might be in trouble.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

We have a psychotic in the white house with his finger on the nuclear trigger.

"Worrying" doesn't begin to cover it.

The WLB's bullshitters have invented a new term for "lying" :  alternative facts!

http://www.rawstory.com/2017/01/kellyann...ive-facts/

Quote:Kellyanne Conway snaps at Chuck Todd: Sean Spicer’s lies about crowd size are ‘alternative facts’

It's going to be a long 4 years of "alternative reality" with these fuckheads.

It won't be just 4 years.  The trend has been gethering strength in right wing circles since the 1980s, and has burst onto mainstream political discourse and grew from there since 1994.

Even if the unlikely event were to transpire where trump would be undone by the "alternative facts", the odious practice of this administration would nonetheless further increase the perception of general acceptability and efficacy of contempt for facts in competition within the grotesquely debased America politics.   If trump puts 2 right wing justices into the Supreme Court before his demise, then no matter what the manner of his demise, absolute and overt contempt for facts would remain the default and probably only political strategy for the next 50 years.   Why should facts matter if the purpose of pursuing politics is not the furtherance of public good?

From your link;
Quote:Later, his White House press secretary said it had been "the largest audience to ever see an inauguration, period".
Legit news agencies (like the BBC) are reporting Trump also said so, and then later his press secretary said so as well.
So yeah, don't try and blame it on the press secretary, it's clear Trump told him what to say.
Quote:Mr Trump said "it looked like a million and a half people" there on Friday - with the crowd extending all the way back to the Washington Monument.

No, it's not. Trump didn't say it was the largest inaugeration to ever happen. Also, his press secretary making an offhand comment about a crowd he had just seen isn't the same as seriously contending that it was the largest crowd ever.

Also love how Conway tried wiggle out by saying they couldn't know the numbers either way you morons brought it up ! proof the trump administration is all about trumps ego.

And yes trump approved the secretaries statement or took no pains to review his statement before bringing it to the press. When your the boss you wear the mistakes of subordinates .Passing the buck or even worst making excuses like "alternate facts" just proves even more to me this fool is not up to the job.

"That was the largest audience to witness an inauguration, period. Both in person and around the globe." - Press secretary Sean Spicer.

That wasn't an offhand comment, and it wasn't just after he had seen the crowd. If it were, how could he possibly have a comment on TV audiences? Don't even try to make excuses - this is the new White House staff deliberately lying to our faces, desperately trying to make His Holy Trumpness look better and more popular than he actually is.

I guess there's some truth to what some are saying; Trump could walk into the streets and start gunning down people like a maniac, and his fans would still support him and excuse his behavior. It's both saddening and sickening.

This is not a dick-measuring game. It doesn't matter who had more people. That is not of any consequence.

He scares the shit out of me for so many reasons. And I am pissed as hell that Americans voted for this douchebag.
