Heels are actually not that difficult to walk in if you give it a modicum of practice. I find them easier than those ridiculous wedge shoes some women wear. You have to shift your body posture, but the biggest problem is making them comfortable - I use gel insoles not only to provide padding, but to keep my feet from slipping around, which is the main culprit for causing blisters.
I frequently wear heels like that for 12 hours a day if I'm going somewhere. My job doesn't require a lot of walking around, but sometimes after-work events do. When I hurt myself while trail running, it's frequently easier to wear heels the next day than it is to wear flats. Don't know exactly what that is.

Also, just to state for the record, every time I've rolled an ankle, it's been while doing something 'sporty' - bike riding, trail running, etc - and wearing gym shoes.
Have yet to hurt myself while walking in heels.

Thread made me curious, just checked with the wife. Says she doesn't wear heels because she already -knows- her ass is bangin.

Because your pounding the shit out of your arches when you run, and heels place the weight on your pads and disperse it across your ankles, compressing (but also taking direct pressure off of) the arches.

I hate heels and flats. I wear my cowboy boots and tennis shoes. Those wedges were 5 inches high and will be the death of me. Seriously did the rehearsal 4 times plus the real deal walk and literally almost broke my ankle every time. Heels are dangerous. Also I suck at being a girl lol
