Hat block was a Jeopardy answer last week. Totally missed it.

That beige hat in the first set is fucking awesome.
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:

"I don't hang around with mostly men because I'm gay. It's because men are better than women. Better trained, better equipped...better. Just better! I'm not gay."

For context, this is the previous verse:

Some how missed the finished product of the black hat. I large part of my being wishes men still wore hats like that in public. I'd wear the hell out of your hats.

pocaracas, Exian, rexbeccarox, thanks guys. The wearing of these kinds of hats are actually trying to make a come back. The Indiana Jones movies definitely continue to influence that.

Here's a Stetson Nutria that started out as a 1950s Western hat. A friend of mine did the conversion work on this one and gave it to me. I did the ribbon work and the creasing on it

Women too. I have a large collection of Audrey-esque hats that I adore wearing in the summer.

They're actually pretty different. Indy's "Raider's"  hat was a '30s style fedora that had a tall straight sided crown. His hat also had a wider raw edge dimensional cut Aussie Outback style brim, longer on the front and back and shorter on the sides. Freddy's hat, the original, was a '40s - '50s Stetson "Whippet" like fedora. The crown on his hat was shorter and it had a 2 1/2 inch ribbon bound brim.

Indy's Raider's fedora...Indy's hat changed with each sequel...

Exactly the reason why I bought some hat tools to do my own conversions and refurbs. I can't afford those prices either. Even the vintage hats can sell for crazy prices on ebay.
