When you average out the balance of power between the two parties of all 3 branches the GOP has held that majority most of the time since Reagan. In that time EVERY SINGLE DECADE there has been a bubble. Reagan's 88 crash, GOP dot com bubble and Bush Jr's triple whammy crash. Taxes have gone down consistently for billionaires in that time while wages for workers fail to keep up with the cost of living.

If Trump makes it to full 4 years term he'll literally spend 1 whole year on vacation.

If a President wanted to he could probably do all of his Constitutionally required duties in about 40 hours per year or even less.  His main duties consist of signing his name on paperwork and appointing people to jobs once in a while.  He can send a written State of the Union message to Congress and he doesn't have to write it himself.  And that's about it.

The president isn't your air conditioner installer or your plumber, it is a 24/7 job. If anyone needs more rest and a life outside of work it would be WORKERS, not billionaires. I think you are WAY WAY WAY over simplifying the job. 45 is used to sitting in an air conditioned office, barking orders getting others to do his bidding. But the Office of The President, isn't simply barking orders. It requires LISTENING to others, and I have not seen shit from that asshole that demonstrates he comes close to doing that one lick.

The polls I was talking about were from Gallup, and their final polls were actually pretty close to the final results (at least for the popular vote.) The key problem is they did not properly account for the Electoral College.

The Gallup poll quoted in the Newsweek article you cited is talking about the amount of people who think can actually do a good job in leading the country, not who will actually win the election. And it's worth noting that Clinton's score on that poll would have been the lowest since the 2000 election if not for the fact that Trump's score on it was even lower.

The President isn't required to do Jack Shit except sign papers.  Everything else he does is because he wants to be seen as a proactive, take charge, kind of guy.  In that case he will end up being a micro-manager.  We've had some of them.
