God as presented by the bible is reasoned to have the attributes that he does. To remove the reasoning and make the baseless statement is much like ignoring the source.

Because most theists try using circular reasoning such as the Bible proving the Bible and more often than not said theists haven't actually read their Bible to start with.

Nothing deconstructs the concept of an omnibenevolent loving deity to a reality-denying Bible-thumping theist faster than that very same collection of writings.

Untill that is established you cant go throwing out some Holy book as evidence. Once you allow a holy book into the picture then your playing the cherry pick- shifting feild goal game..... And as most of us know it just allows for them to MAKE SHIT UP.

... Granted it can be entertaining to watch the mental gymnastics that would easly take the Gold medal in the olympics.

I also believe that it is useless to even start a debate on the bible with a theist if you don't believe in God, because the bible can't mean anything if God does not exist, no matter what is written in it.
