You know, I wonder what excuses he found, and what he told to his believers.
Perhaps, "Oh, I mistook with a year. It's 2012! It's 2012!" :))
A shitty song for a shitty occasion.

Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity. Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist. You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

Quote:Well, guess what? It was already Sunday in Australia when the alleged Biggest Saturday Ever dawned across Eastern Standard Time, and that whole continent remained obstinately Down Under instead of rapturously Up Above. Maybe every single living person there is a blasphemous sinner, but the sun has been crawling across the northern hemisphere for long enough to convince even the most fervently devout that, mmmmmm, maybe they've had their pockets picked once again by yet another wolf dressed in sheep's clothing. It's now 23min in to the end of days and I still don't see naked Christians flying up into the sky.
I wonder how Harold is going to explain this. I do not think it is necessary to believe that the same God who has given us our senses, reason, and intelligence wished us to abandon their use, giving us by some other means the information that we could gain through them

A man is born to a virgin mother, lives, dies, comes alive again and then disappears into the clouds to become his Dad. How likely is that?

Turns out, he's made some previous end of the world predictions, obviously all just as false as his latest one. So he has a little reputation for making up a number of false predictions. Really.....he shouldn't of had anywhere near this amount of attention.

Because of its symbolic language it can be interpreted to fit any world crises or situation partially and anything can pretty much be classified as a fulfillment of prophecy. In reality it is similar to a process used by psychics called a cold reading when they are trying to predict an individuals future, they basically throw out some things out there that may be common to anyone till they strike gold. It's the same bullshit on a grander scale. And Camping ignored the first rule of prophecy. NEVER make a specific prediction. If you're not supposed to ride faster than your guardian angel can fly then mine had better get a bloody SR-71. |
