I always thought she was more of a Libertarian than a Republican but I didn't know she supported Trump. That changes everything for me.

she occurs to me as a person who is enamored with projecting a certain personas as the brave contrarian breaking out of the mold she is perceived to have been cast in into one which is in vogue where actually happen to find her audience.    I have little doubt in the not to distant future she will become a muslim, or flat earther, or wherever there are people ready to give her the attention she craves..

I've never given a shit what any of the famous atheists have said except Hitchens, and that isn't because he's an atheist, but because he's a good writer. And even he was stupid enough to support the long war in Iraq.

Not gonna read all that dribble. Did she say what denomination?

JW or LDS is probably to much to hope for.

I skimmed over it a bit. She is an idiot. She reminds us of the fact that atheists arent smarter than theists. One can be an atheist for completely wrong reasons. One can have unreasonable and fallacious reasoning, and be an atheist. The same reasoning can lead someone back to theism. Looks like this is what she has done.
She "chooses to believe" (as if that was really possible) in a christian god, because of...perceived benefits to humanity. Her professed belief has nothing to do with the actual existence of a god and/or her being convinced of this existence.

Quote:But I have recognised, in my own long journey through a wilderness of fear and self-doubt, that there is a better way to manage the challenges of existence than either Islam or unbelief had to offer.
She said she did become a christian, because the "judeo christian tradition" is so beneficial to humanity. Nothing about actual evidence for the actual existence of a god. I guess she can be described as an "utilitarian", correct?

Quote:Atheism failed to answer a simple question: what is the meaning and purpose of life?

Quote:And we can’t counter Islamism with purely secular tools. To win the hearts and minds of Muslims here in the West, we have to offer them something more than videos on TikTok.

Based on that, apparently she's just a humanist looking for some extra power and control. Or am I missing something?

Power? Control? Not at all from what i see.

Considering her background (as far as i know about it) she is still confused, still looking for answers, purpose, etc. She isnt looking for whats true but for what (she believes!) makes her life better, and that of others.Truth value of what she is promoting seems to be of absolutely lesser importance to her it seems.
I am really curious when she is confronted with and has to defend the anti-humanist, discriminatory and misogynist part of the christian belief. Ill bet a paycheck she is gonna answer by cafeteria christianism. Probably she also will find herself defending the position that she actually still does not believe a god exits (nothing in her article gave a hint to a newly found god belief!), while promoting the christian religion which is founded on such a god belief. Either way, she will have to bend over backwards.

I get that she is looking for her own and her fellow humans betterment, but doing that by ignoring that truth matters.....thats plain stupid. Sorry, but even an idiot like me knows better.

You're probably not missing anything, she just didn't offer any information on it because it's clickbait. The statement itself only a lead in for a completely in character political screed that she's made many times.

Ultimately, she felt betrayed or not accepted by feminists and her wokism....that she sets up as part of a trifecta with authoritarian dictators and islam...is the criticism her position on islam got from the left.

This made her a natural intersectional fit for aei, with it's "throw everything at the wall" approach to protect exxon share values and secure further tax breaks for the rich. Part of -that- is grooming christofascist nutballs - Because any reason is a good enough reason to stop climate legislation and/or transfer wealth upward. We have a situation where a person who was, by their own description, a very active member of a cult... finds themselves surrounded by very active members of a similar cult for professional reasons. That's how and why she can drag political islamism in one breath while invoking political christianism in the next.

I get people thinking there's a profit motive, but I'm certain that she's convinced herself of a great many things since landing in the states. So maybe there is the motive to make a bit of coin, but it's going to be off of stuff she;s genuinely come to believe. She's fighting the good fight against the enemy within, just like back in the day when she was informing on her infidel peers.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
