So, in other words, you're not interested in discussing other things with members here? I'm just a little surprised. You haven't introduced yourself; you haven't talked in any other threads and you are beating this one to death. Why not spread out and get to know the people you are so up in arms against here?

I'm not up in arms against anyone. I'm just determined and very interested in this particular area. If you want me to stop I'll stop and set up a blog to document my progress. I just thought maybe someone else would eventually get involved and help me. This thread will be getting picked up by Google by anyone interested in the 'god is a volcano' theory, which is snow balling. If you'd rather i take it elsewhere then I will do. Please just give me a day's notice so I have time to copy everything.

There are plenty of people that attempt to tease out what any particular culture was trying to describe with it's god myth. Nothing wrong with that. Yahweh could be a volcano. The best thing to do would be to check the myths and artifacts of the cultures that provided the meat of the Yahweh myth. The bible isn't a source for information like that. Not because it isn't proper or kosher to use the bible for research, but because it doesn't contain any information in that regard.

Gosh, no. That wasn't what I was implying at all. I was just trying to get a glimpse of why you're here. We typically ask people to post introductions so we can get to know them. We haven't with you yet, so I'm asking you questions so I can get to know you. Basically, you are saying you are here to get other atheists to help you with your theory?

p.s. if there wasn't so much unnecessary back chat then the thread wouldn't go up to the top as often.

Okay . . . That is entirely irrelevant to my questions. I don't mind if the thread is near the top in the slightest. I don't see an awful lot of back chat, as much as attitudey back and forths, but whatever. Are you here to get help with your research from other atheists?

How are we defining "back chat". Is this synonymous with disagreement?

RE: God Yahweh Allah was a volcano.
I am recent Christian apostate who left Christianity due to a sinking feeling about a volcano. I have a hunch the entire God-feeling can be put down to volcanoes and, being a free thinking truth seeker, I want to see if the evidence points to this. I did think I would get a good reception here and that people would be keen to get involved. It obviously is not something many here want to investigate as I do use the Bible as a source of information. I do, however, believe there will be a lot of people reading this who found this thread via Google and who are keen to get information. This is now by far the biggest collation of research into this theory. I am not keen on giving too much personal information away as I do believe this topic is highly sensitive in the Christian and Muslim world. If I spent all my time going through all the objections then I would never have the time to research my theory, as is what happened yesterday. I have no doubt many people here are very well versed on theology and history but I have my own skills and would like to use them. If there are other atheists out there who can see the potential in this, who do feel the Bible could provide valuable information, and who would like to help then that would be the ideal.

Don't worry. We don't want personal information. We just want to get an idea of who we are talking to, not where she lives or anything like that.

So, you don't think that investigating "objections" would be beneficial to your idea?

Dead Sea Siesmic Activity Records.

'The more active part of this later prehistoric period falls into the end of the Early Bronze Age (c. 2,000 – 1,600 BC), which is characterised by large-scale destruction and abandonment of the fortified towns of the time in favour of nomadic, small-scale settlement. The ruins at Pella (modern Tabaqat Fahl in the northern Jordan Valley) bear evidence of such destruction in the massive walls of the Bronze Age structures. While the map produced by Midowski et al. 2004 does not identify any significant quakes in the immediate vicinity of the site, the geological sequence indicates a serious of major shake-ups that might have enveloped the entire area.'

You don't seem to understand that all of our criticism is constructive when trying to flesh out a strong theory. In any area of science (including archaeology) you will be asked to provide evidence in support of your theory. People will actually ignore you if you cannot do this. Here, we discuss it anyway.

Life won't get any easier for your theory from this point forward, is all I'm trying to say.
