In the hospital

RE: In the hospital
See if you can get them to stick one of those catheters up your pecker, I_B. It may be the only action you get for a while.

Oh no! I stuck a catheter up a guy's pecker once, and he didn't seem to mind. The dude in the next bed on the other hand said: "I now know what it feels like to get raped!" when he got his. Doesn't sound too pleasant to me.. Big Grin
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

I hope you are a nurse and not a concentration camp guard, Kay!

I also hope you wore rubber gloves.

I got internetz now, my mom was kind enough to bring my laptop awhile ago. I was using my phone, but the battery died pretty quick.

It turns out the pulmonary embolism is quite large and is putting pressure on my heart - and I've got a deep vein thrombosis in my leg as well (presumably where the clotting in my lungs came from). Last night they installed a filter in my inferior vena cava to prevent loose clots from reaching my brain and heart, and I've been on anti-coagulants -for about 24 hours.

I won't be discharged for a couple of days at a minimum.

Apparently I dodged a very large bullet yesterday.

The good news is that I'm improving, and I can actually get up and move around a bit, which I could not do yesterday. I literally almost did not make it to the ER door. It would have been kind of embarrassing to die ten feet from the ER.

P.S. I appreciate all the kind words.

This is God's judgement for your life of sin, I tell you.

Nah seriously, stop fucking around in hospital and get better.

I thought it was you that led the life of sin? Oh wait, yeah that was me.

I'm working on breaking out of here. I gotta lose the Heparin IV, and get up to a therapeutic dose of Coumadin (both anti-coagulants). I'm probably well enough to sneak down to the bar across the street, but I'm pretty sure they won't serve someone in a gown with an IV tree in tow.

I haven't had a cigarette in 31 hours - and surprisingly I haven't really wanted one. I think I may be on my way to quitting now.

I hope that you get well soon. I'm glad that you're improving, at least. So take care. And quit smoking.
