It's not a matter of field expertise. It's a matter of rationality. A doctor can be great at his job, but if he's a theist he's ignorant in accessing reality.
@Grandizer contempting is the goal here. In Saudi Arabia it's quite straightforward to the race: "Hendi/Indian or Felepini/Philippines" is used, it's quite an insult if somebody called you "Indian" while you're an Arab there !
@Grandizer The complex of the "maid" engulfs the whole M.E tbh. Every wealthy Arab family must have its own "poor person" to lift the garbage and clean the household. I call it the "pasha superiority complex". Indians have it too in huge numbers, in reality you can see that it ain't about race or religion: it's about "rich humans classifying the poor as their property".
@Fake Messiah Those are arbitrary standards for "slavery." I have no idea why slavery would have to be permanent, inherited, or passed on? The example of slavery you just posted doesn't even necessarily fit those parameters. Also, so what if they pay prisoners 20 cents per hour? Whether they get any pay is irrelevant. They have no will or choice in the matter. Paying slaves pennies does not stop the fundamental nature of the "relationship" between the prison and the prisoner that makes it akin to slavery
TBH though, this is also sort of a problem in Lebanon (though maybe not as high as 9 out of 10 homes and not as extreme), but Christian households are just as guilty of this! It's shit how domestic workers are treated there
