Communication is a multi-faceted problem. I’d extend your comment to say we don’t “effectively communicate” enough. Through the internet and other avenues we’re practically bombarded with communication. Which I think leads to problems with one on one interpersonal communication. We’re struggling to simply talk to one another.
Full disclosure, I’ve had sex the night I met someone, and then we never spoke again. In fact I don’t even recall her name. We both got what we wanted.
@polymath257 I assume it would depend on what you’re both looking for. If you want a one night stand and they want a relationship, it could lead to some drama.
I remember hearing that there are three rules you should follow when deciding whether to say something or not: Is it true? Is it necessary? Would it hurt someone to tell it? If something meets at least two of those criteria, say it.
Lying to children isn't always wrong. How many children have been told that their old, sick, beloved pet was sent to a farm to live? And how many children believe in Santa Clause? Lies aren't always malicious.
