I agree, trust me, I've tried it. It took me 25 years to learn it and I'm 27. I'm a novice polite liar. May explain some of my activity on these forums for years.

Excluding a couple of silly things. I must have lied about as a kid that I can't even remember.

Made it easy to think of what to say though. Explains why until my activity decreased I was by far the most active forum poster for years, that plus my typing speed. And my posts weren't always small either, some were huge. Lol.

'Just kidding' /sarcasm jokes I am also not counting.

I hate liars, but of course there are times where lying is the best way to go, IMO.

In my opinion it most certainly is. Lying is a necessary part of life.

I prefer if it benefits you, and doesn't harm anyone else.

At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Am I the only woman on the planet who would *prefer* my husband be honest? Especially about my looks as he is the one and only person on the planet I give a shit about whether or not he finds me attractive... If my ass looks fat to him, I need to know so I can hit the gym more!

Lying is always justifiable.
Whether you accept the justification is another matter.

I think there could be a few situations in life where lying is acceptable, and probably wise.

However, I think that in general lying is not a good call. Much better to be open and honest than lie and
A. get caught in the lie
or
B. harbor negative feelings instead of resolving an issue on the spot.
