I completely abandoned Red Rocket... my main bases are Sanctuary, The Castle, and Starlight Drive In. I have 20+ in each. Supply routes... gotta have a good network...

I'm not getting the option to send anyone to Sanctuary, not even companions when I dismiss them.
My fall back position to keep them close is Red Rocket.
I'm pretty sure I have almost all the communities, now - just added covenant.
Contemplating abandoning Abernathy and Finch farms, though. Invariably if I get a kidnap mission at a community it's the mother or daughter from Abernathy...

This game is the buggiest game I have ever played. I'd be willing to bet that is why.

Well, there is that!
Still far too much fun, though.
I finally finished the main storyline, taking the side of the Brotherhood of Steel.

As far as Bethesda games go, this is the least buggy I've ever played. Apart from the usual skyrocket corpses, Bethesda games are so fond of.

You guys are making me so fucking jelly. I really need to stop reading this thread because I can't afford the game or the PC required to play it!

Play the old Fallout games. In my opinion, they were at least as fun as FO4.

They were just as much fun.
I enjoy the extra bits you can do in FO4, though.
