The denial of access is justified because bathroom segregation is based on objective biological sex not subjective gender identity.

Transsexuals are the ones requesting gender reassignment.

The problem is that you are equivocating between patients and transsexuals and it can be difficult for the psychiatrist and the patient to determine what they are. This thread subject is "Transsexual", not transgendered. Transsexual is a misnomer because it is not about sexuality, but it has stuck and is gradually being replaced with the more umbrella term transgendered. But transgendered includes the whole spectrum whereas transsexuals by definition wish to change their bodies to match the gender that they identify as. And for those people. transitioning is the only effective treatment.

I have read and found definitions that say transsexual means transgendered, and trans gendered means what you claim transsexual means. And I've found definitions that support my reading of the words. Fitting I suppose given the topic.

Either way for the sake of this thread transsexuals include all people who suffer with GID.
While transgender (change of gender) will mean that those who seek to have a gender change.

I have separated the meaning because I saw it separated in one of the books I listed as a source that made this distinction. Meaning not all GID patents want to adopt a new gender.
