To circumcise or not to circumcise?

Nonetheless, I would never say any of you are bad people for being ok with abortion, as awful as I think abortion is. I choose not to judge. And if you're my friend and I find out you're for it, that does not change my opinion of you.

You've very little understanding of what abortion is if you think that is the way it happens. It is for a reason that abortion is not done after a set amount of time has passed in the fetus' developmental process.

And you think most circumcised men are glad? I don't know how many you've spoken to but I bet they were all circumcised as babies and never knew what it's like to have their foreskin. Talk to someone who has experience of both and you'll see how glad they really are...

It's your baby so please look at the facts and don't make a stubborn uninformed decision while there is still time. At least look at all the info with an open mind first...

You are willing to go far and beyond reasonable to avoid a mother from aborting a baby, yet you are willing to make decisions for a baby based on aestetics and cultural trends? Do you fucking think or are you just afraid of using your brains to say something different your husband thinks? I actually love my wife for her ability to disagree with me. That is why I love her.

And YOU ARE MAKING A DECISION FOR AN UNBORN HUMAN. Judging are you not?

If you and your husband have decided, what is the point of this thread then? You expected everyone to agree with you? Try some jewish forums. They will agree with you 100%.

I've got a question related to the topic but in no way dependant on which option id vote for since I've already voted.

I keep hearing the foreskin is the most sensitive part of the penis but it doesn't feel that way for me, it's exactly the opposite. The head of my cock is ultra ultra sensitive, but not my foreskin at all.

Any other circumcised males feel like that?

If scientists all agree my foreskin has the most nerve endings I won't argue, it doesn't feel that's the case though with mine. I can actually dig my nails in pretty hard on my foreskin and not feel anything but the head is a different story.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

I doubt this will help - especially that I'm guessing you've had me on ignore for months - but I don't think you're a horrible person. Or a horrible mother. It's just that... Goddamit, how do you have internet in the 1950's?
Seriously - are you a Stepford wife? Do you just do what you're told is ok to do - by your family, your priests, your husband?

So what? Did you already pay the hit-man and can't call him off, until your future son's foreskin is buried in the woods somewhere?

Here's an idea - do the circumcision thing, but not immediately - give it a few weeks. The kid will still be too young to remember anything, but you and your husband will have developed an emotional bond with him, rather than with the naive idea of him you have now. There's a reason most male circumcisions - religious or otherwise, are performed shortly after birth.

If at this point you're still able to go through with mutilating your child's penis - oh, well - do whatever you want, Eva Braun - I guess the kid's f*cked either way...

And I think I'd have mine shellless. Turtles look better without their shells. It's not like they need them or anything. It's an improvement on gawd's design. I want it removed like a true Christina.

Oh wait, I'm a non-Christina and shells are natural and kinda important for turtles.

Hmmm. But shells are a pain to wash.

It's so hard. I can't decide whether to rip the shells off my future offspring without their consent or not. Many turtles do it, there's even invalid fabricated evidence out there that suggests there are health benefits to being a shellless turtle. Genuine invalid fabricated evidence.

Anyways, many people do it and the whole thing is highly amusing to me and not even remotely grotesquely fucking immoral.

After all it's a moot point because I have a good turtle buddy who had his shell removed and he told me if we adopt kids he wants to rip their shell off as it was done to him when he was a tiny turtle. It's out of my hands.

Besides, a turtle without a shell? Come on it looks better!

Genital mutilation is not really a "light hearted" topic though, CL. [emoji45] The fact that something was done to many people for a long time and was considered socially acceptable at certain points in history, is not a good reason to CONTINUE to do a thing. A decision like whether or not to surgically remove a piece of your infant's body should be made using critical thinking skills; i.e. weighing the facts and evidence from both sides and coming to a reasoned, unemotional conclusion rooted in what is best for the child. Obviously, I failed to do this the first time around, and I feel ashamed of my self. But I am willing to re-evaluate the situation in light of the facts and will be making a more informed decision going forward.

My point is, there is nothing wrong with saying, "Gee, I never thought of it like that", or "Well, I didn't know about that", and then changing your mind based on what you've learned...

Exactly. People used to own slaves for a very long time too.

"But people do it." Is not a valid reason.

I am not a male with a penis but this is the info I have read and been given by males. The sensitive part has been removed. Not all areas of the foreskin are the same just like not areas of the labia are the same. Some more sensitive than others. If you think your glans is sensitive now after years and years of being exposed to clothing and touching how do you think it might feel if it had been protected by skin all this time?

The part that is removed has generally 20,000 more sensory cells in it than after you cut it off. 20k lovely little sexual firing pins that you just don't have anymore. Kind of like the difference between your penis head and your shaft. Just think what sex might be like if your shaft felt like your penis head feels during sex. Smile

A turtle without a shell is like a homeless hobo. Like slugs are just homeless snails.
