.....I'd have found the blade this forum is hosted on and set fire to it, by now.  We're the worst, lol.  Argue

And all this time I thought someone just caught me in a lie. Phew!
I don't have an anger problem, I have an idiot problem.

One kind of quitting I never have done and never will do.

Also my quitting hardly lasted.

I tend to do the "I think I may be wasting my life so imma try to post less... shit I failed okay I'll eventually stop. There. I stopped for a like well over a week. Oh fuck I'm back already!" kind of quitting don't I?

All this quitting is getting me kinda ragey. On the verge of a ragestay to counteract all that. Well, here it is, I guess.

Sometimes I get tired of the same discussions going round and round and I'm absent for a day or two. Sometimes something really interests me and I put in 20 posts within a few hours. It will be the same as long as the board exists.

There are people here that really make my blood boil and put my pacifist nature to a serious test. Theists and atheists alike. But there also are people here I consider friends or good sparring partners. As far as the internet can provide for that. Again, both theists and atheists.

To clarify, I'm not saying he should be censored for his opinions.  I totally agree that he should be ignored, and I certainly don't think anyone should quit over him.  People do need to learn not to let his words get to them.  It's the Internet.  A thick skin is needed.

What I am wondering is if he hasn't been found to have violated the "no trolling" rule, what good is it?  He admits quite frequently to provoking people just to get a reaction out of them, and he says things like, "the Nazis were leftists" because he knows it will get everyone riled up.  He'll argue one thing out of one corner of his mouth and then argue the opposite of that out of the other just so he can take a contrary position.  Or are we just supposed to believe that the guy that is constantly arguing for objective morality can legitimately also argue for cultural relativism to allow him to take a contrary position on an extremely sensitive subject? I know he's dumb, but are we supposed to believe that he's that fucking stupid?

To be clear, I'm not necessarily calling for his ban, and I'll certainly accept the staff's decision.  It's just that when he starts driving valued members away and appears to be in violation of the rules, I don't see why something can't be done.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell
