Once I thought that maybe spaghetti should not be boiled for so long that it burns and sticks to the bottom of the pan, scrapped and then boiled another hour in the sauce. Rather than have a fight I "suggested" we give it to the dogs and go out to dinner...

then I got a fresh vat of hot spaghetti thrown at me. pot and all..

That may or may not be true.
I also may or may not have thrown a remote control at his face last night....

Practice makes perfect, sweetie.

I think this is a bit of an exaggeration/misrepresentation.

It's not. He's admitted to praying for people to get cancer.

What I remember is he prayed for whatever it would take for someone to become close with God. Whether that be a good thing, a bad thing, cancer, or whatever else. From what I understand, he got cancer and "found his faith again" or something, which would explain his reasoning.

I'm not saying it's right. But I do think it's a bit of a misrepresentation to translate that into "he wants us all to get aids."
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Whatever the case may be, he's here... so I'll let him speak for himself lol.

As for the rest, I wasn't involved in any of those other threads about aids or supposed child abuse. But I see how his position is being misrepresented when said "he thinks rape victims are liars", so I'm a bit skeptical on the others.

Did he say he's not against spanking or something? If so, that would be a far cry from saying he celebrates child abuse.

No, he actually did say he thought she was lying. And I would never accuse someone of celebrating child abuse if they just say they think spanking is ok. He posted a video where a mother videos as her son is about to be hit with a big wooden paddle by 2 employees at his school. It's disturbing to say the least but it's also how he went on to say that he thinks beatings are important for growth. Beatings...his word not mine. You can look it up for yourself it was his thread I think the title says something about America in it. I won't be surprised if you have excuses for him. I genuinely don't think he's some sort of monster. I'm simply presenting his behavior on this forum which I consider to be intentionally grotesque for shock factor because he's nothing but a massive troll.
You don't have to agree with me, but I stand by opinion that minimalist's behavior vs Drich's behavior is not remotely comparable.

Really, just look through his threading history.

You haven't had a proper stir-fry, I see.

Blech I've had a gross one and also a proper one without those nasty bean sprouts.

When you say that to someone who's lost friends and family to cancer, to someone whose son's mother has fought a 16-year running battle with the disease, you get what you pay for.

If you think reasoning is more valuable than considering people's feelings, that's your business. Me, I think there's a better way to make the point that is not hurtful, but still conveys the message. If Drich is your god's messenger, I think your god needs a new HR manager.

The thought occurs to me that an omnipotent god might find another way to draw worshippers than to inflict them with a devastating, painful disease, too ... but that's another discussion. Smile

It's a good thing I didn't say that, then! I'm not defending any charges laid against Drich other than the ones I myself have made. But I am saying he's a black-hearted person. You're free to heed or ignore as you see fit, obviously.
