Clifford Simok - The Goblin Reservation.
John Wyndham - The Chrysalids.
Why? Because both are written by atheists and are about better times of the life of man kind when nobody believes in this god shit anymore.

Even though it was a text book, I really enjoyed Larson Calculus; this was a great aid in fulfilling my personal goal of teaching myself calculus (naturally, I had to make use of various supplemental sources, as one source can't cover it all). It is a comprehensive book that covers differential calculus, integral calculus, basic analytic geometry, and multi-variable calculus/vector calculus. My favorite areas of study in this book were the following: the u substitution; arc length; line integrals and surface integrals; the concept of curl, Green's theorem, and Stoke's Theorem; parametric equations and polar coordinates (these are cool); integration by parts, trigonometric substitution, and partial fractions; partial derivatives; computing triple integrals , especially via change in coordinates (spherical and cylindrical; these were awesome). Hence, delving into this book reminded me of how fascinating the world of ideas is and how much I truly appreciate them.

For one who has probably read over a thousand books, I do not have a favorite.

I'm with Maelstrom on this. I'm not sure I could pick a single favourite book any more than I could pick a single favourite film. For instance, I can't just a history the same as I would a work of fiction.

Ragtime by E.L. Doctorow. It's just perfect to me. It's so weird, but the humor is right up my alley. Also, a lot of the characters are real historical figures, and I love studying history. I never saw the film adaptation, but I guarantee it can't really convey the book's tone.

Yeah, I've got plenty of favorites. CitR has already been mentioned -- the sense of finding anger and the absurd in alienation struck a deep chord in me. A Farewell to Arms has romance, war, debauchery, and terror. What a mix, eh? Guns, Germs, and Steel presents some complex thoughts with great writing. I love most of John Keegan's work for the same reasons.
