Ah, the joke is never really that funny once explained, is it.

Ahh, okay.  So it's just for cars then?  Didn't realize it was a joke.

The Joke went
My Head

They got her a car recently, actually.  A Nissan Leaf.  She only just got her license about a week ago.

I like this website:

And if your kid likes board games, she'll love Exploding Kittens.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

(The Space Program is a great idea.. unfortunately someone else is already getting it for her.  This is what I get for waiting for the last minute to do my Christmas shopping)

An internal combustion engine is a motor, ya know, that thing in the front of most cars. 16=car.

I got it if it's any consolation Smile

It's that noisy filth-encrusted thing squatting under the bonnet of your car that puts auto mechanics' kids through medical school ['So, what's the estimate?' 'Not sure. It depends on when my boat payment is due.']  You can also use it to make cars go.

Did you buy any Science-related gifts this year, and does anyone have any ideas for me?

For people that like chemistry...something like a book/kit for molecular gastronomy with a focus on food chemistry would probably get a lot of use if your granddaughter enjoys cooking too.

The other thing that comes to mind, is to get her a Raspberry Pi starter kit.

Not really related to chemisty or physics...but a lot of people I know who are into science, don't realize how rewarding programming/CS is until they are given a little nudge in the right direction

NZ = bonnet, US = hood.

You have filth-encrusted under a hat.

Ah. That's funny. Here, the 'hood' is the retractable fabric cover on a convertible.
