BTW, that light curve is from an organization of amateur astronomers watching Tabby's star !!!

July 10 is another occultation by MU69. This one will be observed (hopefully) by the Sophia airborne observatory.
This will be a wonderful prelude to the New Horizons flyby. Any wisp of atmosphere, any sign of rings, or maybe it's a binary or double lobe object has a good chance of being discerned. The fact that this is a Chinese project should worry the USians. But some Austrian institutes are involved, so it's not like the West isn't taking part in this crucial technology.
