The Newly Departed thread: announcements (departures)
RE: The Newly Departed thread: announcements (departures)
Best news EVER! No surgery!!!! (For now) my surgical consult turned into a "let's not" appointment! Plan is to try to save the surgical work we did last year by treating me with a mixture of constant antibiotic therapy, and immunosuppression for the disease. Shock My surgeon (who was in medical school by age 13 btw whaaat?!) Thinks with my weakened state, waiting is best for now. So now we wait and I am totallllllyyyyy okay with that! Unfortunately for you mafia scum that means I'll be back to give you a run for your monies soon!
Just wanted to update Whateverist before he leaves, thinking I'm all surgeried when I'm not. Tongue
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

Nothing to worry about, I have a fun and very busy weekend planned. Around noon Saturday will probably be last I can be on here for maybe up to 2 days or so, maybe a little more.

If baba love guy comes back, please say "hi" for me.

In addition to the fun and frolic, looks like I'm up for a gourmet meal tomorrow night, looking forward to that and everything else. LOL, and Sunday night, if I can still walk, I have one remaining Flemings gift certificate, just right for a prime rib, wedge salad, and crème brule special. I'm not real sure I can eat like that 2 night's running, but I guess if I view it as a challenge, [snicker].

And I'm getting ready for eclipse weekend too. Looks like it's feasible to go up to, and maybe over 300 miles west to watch. Trying to figure out cloud angle, if we take sis's vehicle we have internet (somehow, damned if I know how her crap works). If we take my pickup, well, I can haul more stuff (food, sleeping bag, gas can, water) and I get to drive. I hate driving her rig, but I hate riding in it when she's driving it even more. Routing is go west, stay the fuck away from Omaha, Beatrice, Lincoln, Grand Island, North Platte and Interstate 80. And just heading west till in ground track of totality, then keep going west -or- depending on conditions (traffic and clouds) head south to get inside 2:30 area. Forecast is cautiously encouraging, scattered clouds, low to mid 80s. While heading west, will probably stop a couple times and top off fuel, but pickup has range to get me where I want to be unrefueled, just worried about getting home that night if the whole state grid locks.

I am expecting severe gridlock south of Omaha, all along I-80, anywhere near Beatrice, Lincoln, and all N-S roads south of I-80 west as far as where the center line of the eclipse intersects I-80 (just south of Grand Island)

2:30 is quite a bit more time than I had in '79, and yeah, I'd like to be on the max duration spot, but going west seems a better bet for traffic and clouds.

92 west, 67 south.

LOL, I was thinking if I had time Monday 8/14 of sitting in the front yard with my eclipse glasses on between noon and 1PM and seeing how many people freak out they are missing the eclipse.

About ready to go. Hit the "To Do" list on the DVR to keep it from overflowing while I'm gone. Dumped the playlist too, I have 38% free space on the Genie and over 50% on the pair of HR22s.

Have tickets, camcorder, clothes shoes and cleaned out truck.

Really keyed up for this !!
