What Binds the Nucleon of an Atom?

I know gluons bind quarks to form protons and neutrons. But what boson binds protons and neutrons with each other?

Not sure on the gay stance at this stage.
It may be against the laws of physics.

I'd be willing to bet that in the future, we'll be able to observe differences in protons and other "particles". When/if that happens, we may have a better handle on radiation, in the sense that we only have a statistical interpretation of nuclear decay. We're learning all the time. To claim we know it all would make us a religion.
