Is Anime Artistic?

You can consider the story art.
Both of them are works of art perhaps, but I like the first one more. Its sort of a legend kind of art. The second is just generic Japanese anime art ... boring.
Yes, anime is art. Then again, the paint splatters of Jackson Pollock are also art.
Just because something qualifies as 'art' doesn't mean that 1) it doesn't suck, and 2) I don't hate it. Boru

I would label it, by definition, art, if we're using a broad meaning of the word. In the same breath comics are art. And while I enjoy my 'Tintin', 'alleen' and 'Chinaman', I sooner think of those under the banner 'entertainment'. Movies, tv-series, videogames, anime, manga, cartoons, comics, ... Garfield could be concidered art. And I'm not gonna fight that label. Because I don't think it's wrong. But it's not exactly what we think of when we hear 'art', I think.
