The name of God thread.

The name of God thread.
Contrary to what people believe, the name of God is not letters in language. It's actually the image of God, the light of God, which is the word of light he has brought to life, the word of God, the face of God, the spirit from God, the holy spirit, the throne, the seat, the authority, the leadership, the position of Mastership of God on his creation.

From one perspective, he has but one name and from another he has many beautiful instances of his name, since many people were names of God that succeed this position, of the star in the darkness, the door of light ought the darkness, the rope of God to hold on to.

We will look at this in details in combination of Quran and hadiths of Ahlulbayt (as) and reasoning through reflection through these two lights.

It's easy enough to speculate on the characteristics of something that cannot be proven to exist, which is absurd if one thinks about it logically. I first want proof of god's existence before I have to hear a bunch of things about him that appear completely conceptualized by man's imagination.

It happens to be the name of God is the proof of God, so you can solve two birds in one stone with this guidance.

Chapter 1 - The opening

The Quran begins with the phrase "By the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful (1), all/the praise is to God, Lord of the Worlds(2)"

Without arguing what the name of God is and who possess that station in the opening chapter, it put's a significant fact. That reality which connects us to God to the extent that not a single praise misses him, and all praises are to him, is a reality known as the name of God.

It then emphasizes that he is Compassionate, and extremely so, in the next verse as it did in the first. Then it reminds of a day of judgment, and the judgment manifestation and the light of the manifestation of his judgement again is his name, as all true just judgment is a praise, just as his compassion and mercy, by which we call him compassionate and extremely so.

As for him, we worship him, and seek help from him.

It happens to be that worshiping God is only made possible through this reality known as his name.

The Quran continues. "Guide us upon the straight path", and the straight path which is worshiping God and seeking his help and there is levels of this and etiquette, it reminds us there is a one straight path meant for everyone.

As the name of God is one, so is the path of humans who been created from that image, the path for them is one.

This already suggests why morality is objective and the only possible way for goodness to exist is through his name, which has two components, the connecting to human part and connection to God. We are connected to God and it proves the source.

The Surah has not ended, but continues. "The path of those who you have bestowed favor upon...", the Quran illuminates who exactly is meant by this. From one perspective, there doesn't exist a human who God has not bestowed favors upon, but this refers to a specific favor, that is the position of Leadership from God and being chosen for his religion and task of guidance.

The Quran we will see elaborates exactly what is meant by it, but in this context, we see whoever they are, they are not of those who "wrath of God is upon" nor "those who are astray".

The favor we will see is actually being given the position of the name of God, those who are his beautiful names.  This Surah however is not very argumentative, so it leaves these concepts in a very abstract way.

We will see that the whole Quran elaborates on these 7 verses, and the place they have in connecting to God and understanding the wisdom and seeing the truth.

This chapter is mandatory to recite in Salah unlike other Surahs of the Quran.

I’ve wondered why Jewish people often write God as G-d? Or something like that?

This isn't a mystery.  I was raised Catholic, and we were reminded of God's real name every Sunday.  His name is Harold Wichart:

'Our Father, Wichart in Heaven,
'Harold be thy name....'

The name of god in Latin is BVLLSHIT.

In the sacred language of Islam it is الهراءالثور
