the Carnival Season

Yesterday, on the 11th day of November - at 11 minutes past 11 o'clock a.m. - the Carnival Season has officially started in Germany.
What is your general opinion on Carnival?
Have you ever taken part in Carnival somewhere sometime?

Not sure what meaning you assign to Carnival. When I was a kid, it was just the period before Lent when you could indulge in goodies.

I've never officially been to a carnival. Pretty sure they're extinct here in 'Murica. The closest I have come is the State Fair and amusement parks.

We took a squadron of USN ships around South America and just so happened to hit Rio during Carnival.
