I'll have to look into that, though any time a turkey gets cooked around here the wife does it. That's because a turkey for a holiday is one of the approximately six dinners a year that she actually prepares.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

It's great for me because I don't have the fridge space for a full turkey. They want godawful prices for turkey breast, so I picked up a Jennie-O turkey thigh tonight. I don't do the cooking on Thanksgiving, but I did buy some stuffing because I enjoyed the turkey, stuffing, and gravy that I made a couple of weeks ago. I don't know anything about thigh meat, but I like both dark and white meat, so it will be fine.

It took over eight years for Adam Lanza’s YouTube channel to be discovered. It was called CulturalPhilistine, he apparently explained in no Uncertain terms why he shot those kids (apparently, he hated society [and apparently, even the mere concept of culture] that much that he wanted to kill kids before they grew into being a part of it), and it was scrubbed as soon as people figured out who was behind it.

Also, he apparently was not only a pedo, but a pedophilia apologist who apparently wrote a 10,000-word essay defending it for a college admission.

Apparently in some states a plea of no contest, unlike a guilty plea,  can neither be withdrawn nor annulled or reversed by a judge even if decisive irrefutable evidence of innocence is later produced.

So unlike a guilty plea, a no contest plea tarred one for eternity with not even theoretic possibility of having the name of the defendant cleared.

1. You can read people's toots on Mastodon as RSS feeds.

2. Mark made a mistake attributing a Malachi quote to Isaiah. The KJV fixed it by changing Isaiah to "the prophets".

3. Luke was a Democrat. He said "blessed are the poor, for the kingdom of God is theirs." Matthew was a Republican. He said, "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" so the materially rich could have the kingdom of heaven too.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
