Since my transition.
May 16, 2026 at 3:59 pm
6 months post op. But for a year and a half now, i have fallen in love with shopping. Irony, even as a kid/teen and young adult, I also loved mostly window shopping, but because of my upbringing and indoctrination of society, I suppressed my feminine side, but shopped for guy things. The mall was my favorite place to go. But now that I am out, I am far more into dress shopping, although it can be a royal pain as far a finding the right pattern and size.
But today, I hit my jackpot. I have been hunting for a Jackie O style box dress with the faux pockets with buttons, and today I found one in the right size. So friggen happy.

I gotta ask...how long is your hair and how are you wearing it?
Congrats on the dress find, btw.

Has your transition affected your poetry in any way? Not being snarky, just wondering if it has given you a different viewpoint on things.

Not comparable, I understand, but I used to love shopping for girl's clothes. The fashion is just so much better.

I'm not even a clothes guy but I have had my moments of envy regarding the huge variety (compared to men) of women's fashion. Maybe I would be more interested in the subject if I had been female.
I'm a bit turned off by people being judged by adherence to fashion trends. I vividly remember my experience in middle school where I was ridiculed for not wearing bell-bottom pants. I wasn't wearing them because my parents were of below-average wealth. I wore what I had; what they could afford. I personally couldn't have cared less. Several years later, I would have been ridiculed for wearing bell bottoms because they had gone out of fashion.
That's another thing that would make me more interested in clothes: Respect for individuality.

IKR? You wear lederhosen and an aloha shirt to ONE funeral, and that's all people can talk about for a fecking month.
