"Gay" is not a derogatory term. Don't use it as such.

Hi, I have a homosexual roommate and your using his sexuality as an insult makes me angry.

Didn't realise that was an insult.
I was merely implying that the "blessings" he was showered in could be considered an analogy for something else.

In all honesty, and again you're quite right again, I was just being lazy for humorous intent. The colours aren't really all that close when measured so precisely. They do have a certain passing resemblance by eye, though, close enough for my strange brain to draw the comparison.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

You didn't realize calling someone "gay" as though the word carries intrinsic negative meaning is insulting to gay people?

I'm a bit of a snob about things like that. The distinction is relevant to my profession. :3 I didn't mean to attack you! XD

Sounds to me like all three of you (housemate included, hi there) assumed I consider being gay to be a bad thing.
Also, didn't call him gay. Just saying that was a statement that was rather homosexual in nature.
