We're already vastly over-populated. There is a population limit, if we hit it......you're looking at mass starvation. It's a finite planet. Limited resources.
Longer lifespans will slam us straight into that population limit.
David Attenborough warned that either we control our numbers or nature will do it for us. The first option is far kinder and gentler than the later option.

You first Ace. There really isn't anything gentle or kind about population control either way you approach it. It's shit sandwich on the one hand, a shit pie on the other (imo).

Already done my bit. I'm not having kids.
The gentler way means limiting how many kids you have, the cruel way is death by starvation. Fewer kids or more deaths?
It's not actually about telling people how many kids they can have or trying to force anyone to do or not do anything, it's merely a warning of what will happen should we continue. Ultimately, it's entirely up to us how the future unfolds. Whether it be good or disastrous.

I don't care about prolonging my lifespan, I just want to live as healthily and happily as possible. It seems that the majority of my life is taken up with stress and other illnesses, usually caused by other people.

I'd love to live forever if my mind could take the information, I had a foolproof means of evading capture and imprisonment, and I didn't get sick or age. Also I would be able to end my life whenever I wanted to.
This is stupid

Personally, when it comes to life, I value quality much more than quantity. So, rather than pine over the length of my life and if I could have enough control to extend it beyond its natural lifespan, I would much rather concentrate on making the years I know I have worthwhile. I would much rather live a fulfilling life of 75 years than a life of 300 years full of 'what if's' and 'should have's.'

I would love to be able to extend my lifespan, honestly. I have problems with dying, and I'm very curious about and interested in where humanity will end up in the next thousand years or so.
My plans are to utilize cryonics to preserve my brain after my body dies so that I can perhaps one day be reawakened. That's really all I can hope for right now.

^^^ This. ^^^
The only way I would wish to extend my lifespan would be if I could avoid the inevitable ravages of age on the body and mind.
I know that I have far fewer years ahead of me than behind - and at this point, while I am in no hurry to finish this race, I will have no regrets whether I die today or 20+ years from now.
