But you still have given us no reason to believe that non-profit organizations need to be taxed. I'm not just talking about churches, im talking about all of them.

I liked Vinny's video; that guy was funny. Taxes are complicated shit, and we all seem to have our own idea of what should and shouldn't be taxed. I'd say most of us are equally as ignorant as each other, when it comes to understanding the actual complexities of any tax system. I started a debate about the subject of religious tax exemption on one of the Facebook pages I admin, and discovered a few things that I'd not previously considered. I'm going to trawl through the posts and see if I can find it, and if this thread is still going I'll copy/paste some of the responses when I get a chance. It made for some very interesting reading.

71 Billion dollars is chump change?

Wasting the amount of money that a country like Russia spends on it's entire defence, is not simply chump change.
Regardless of whether it is 7 trillion or 7 billion or 71 billion that churches cost due to tax exemption, how is calling it chump change any defence that they should be entitled to waste such money?
