Leaving JesusLand.
Lets say that all atheist are about to make an new country, with plenty of natural resources. In this new country we would welcome Agnostic,Atheists,Buddhists, Gays,Lesbians,Transgends.
We would also want people with college degrees and people with open-minded philosophies,...
Our political system would be based on democratic, new left. Conservatives, republicans and other scum would not be welcome.

I want from you to imagine this place and try to describe it,how would we live, what kind of progress such an society would bring to others,is such a place simply utopian if so why,...you just let your imagination out,i want to see what we are able to think of about a society that will one day flourish on our planet.

I don't see it happening. People have a way of fucking things up.

As for religion, the key to turning a religion into fundamentalism is that religion's dominance in a region. You meet any Muslims here in the US and they're usually pretty nice people; no sign of the middle east Ji'had frenzy you see on the news all the time. If you were to go find Christians in the middle east, though, they would be nice, calm, friendly people. I don't think atheism is free from that, either. I can very easily see people being extremely intolerant and using atheism to defend it. Burning churches and religious works of art, killing people for believing in a religion, forced public mockery of religion... I can see all those happening in a region that has atheism installed as the long term religion of choice.

Honestly, the two things that help build a good society is education and money. Those are the people who want to maintain a society; the people who have something to lose if that society collapses. The less people have to lose by that society's collapse, the less they're going to be interested in maintaining that society.

Not utopian, definitely not how I would describe a perfect country. Exclude everyone not atheist or agnostic? Exclude all right - wingers? Very exclusionary. As for the democratic left government always being there, it may work for a few terms, until everyone's sick of them then a one-party system would have to be set up to ensure it's survival. Can you name any other one-party state that excluded people due to a religious or political view that public opinion favours?

Some humans are great, intelligent people. Most are idiots that had progress been left to them we'd still be bollock naked around a camp fire tossing off like little monkeys to two rocks on the ground that look slightly like breasts from a certain angle. It is these people who will slowly dominate and increase their hold on our society and regress whatever progress has been made.
In about 100 years time our species will likely be living in a wasteland where people only communicate through fanatical screaming and molestation. It'll be like Mad Max meets the Fritzles. As time progesses over thousands of years other species will gain sentience and become our owners. Look upon the face of your future masters and despair...

so some individualists are very nice people, but the masses are stupid ignorant and violent. So the best think to do is to care about you and your close ones and dont give a fuck about anyone else.

This sound good. Big Grin will try to do this

Visit Sweden, it's as close as you're gonna get. With an 85% non religious population and among the most peaceful nations on earth.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan

Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

Sure, a large percentage are 'atheist', but you find some of the most religious nutters (mostly immigrants unfortunately), who do all kinds of shit in the name of their gods. And Swedes, being the non-confrontational softies they are, are afraid taking about these problems, because they don't dare offend anyone. Many a problem is wiped under the rug and religious minorities are grabbing for benefits at the expense of the majority.
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

Not all of it. The feeble-minded will always need their sky-daddy.

Don't be so naive as to think that all those who are currently united by opposition to religious oppression have enough other interests in common such that they would not turn on eachother in short order once the yoke of religious oppression is removed.

I'd like to think that at some point human intelligence gets to a level where bullshit dogma is simply not even considered by any concious living being. But hey, I must be an optimist.

As for what the society would be like? I don't really know, but I do predict it would be a far way into the future.
