I was brought up a "Christian" child (as are most of my friends). I can't agree more with Richard Dawkins that raising your child as a "Christian" (or Muslim, Buddist, etc) is wrong. They should be taught from a young age about the various religions out there, the argument for and against and have the freedom of choice to make up their own mind when they are older.
When, however, you were "brainwashed" as a child into Christianity it fucks up in a way your freedom of choice. If you were taught from an early age that it is wrong to question the Bible, Christianity and God and that you would go to hell if you do, a lot of people won't because they are scared. Therefore a lot of people (incl. my friends) won't ever question Christianity.
That's why I agree with Secularone but is it moral though? Like I've mentioned before, some people need something to believe in?

Wouldn't that be great! Believing in yourself and friends rather than religion

I'd have to start if I were to stop. I defend others against insults when I feel they don't deserve them. I usually dispense an insult with a joke... but whether that makes me an idiot... or not? I personally think it just makes me jovial

To be jovial you'd have to be remotely funny - what's funny about a completely nonsensical comment
Fair enough if you could make a joke about it - I'd enjoy that too - but you seem to be making a constant stream of these seemingly idiotic retorts.

cheerful and friendly : she was in a jovial mood. Unless I have to be funny to be cheerful? Maybe it will make more sense if you read it without the quote tags?

Fair enough that I have gotten enough insults in my life to instantly respond cheerfully in the face of them? What is any more idiotic about my retorts than other's insults?

Isn't whether someone is an idiot or not, a subjective matter? So not something to seriously be argued about perhaps?

EvF,
Welcome to the atheistforums! There was a new law writ into our constitution that states something like, "All things are worth arguing about! Because A=A you can argue even purely subjective issues by building logic upon itself unto infinity and beyond!" Yeah, part "Toy Story", part objectivism, and all bullshit! I keep a copy in my head so after I am dead you can extract it along with my soul! lol Prepare the bed with a scale built in and you can further Dr. MacDougall's work! /sarcasm

PS No, I don't believe I have a soul I AM just taking a piss!
