So let me get this straight. When you don't like what your book says you simply invent new words for your god to say. Convenient.

No, I checked the underlying Hebrew words to see if they have other meanings. I invented nothing. Here's one way to do it:

1. Go to blueletterbible.org
2. Enter 2 kings 2 and search in the KJV
3. 2 kings 2 comes up. Look for a little checkbox that says "Show Strong's" and check it. Little numbers come up beside the words.
4. Scroll down to v. 24 and click on the number beside "tare" (1234 - no Spaceballs jokes, please)
5. This page comes up. Scroll down a little and you'll see it's used 51 times. It's translated as "divide" 5 times, "break through" 3 times, and "breach" 2 times.
6. Click on "divide" and you'll see the verses where it's translated as such.

As you see, I'm not making this up. You can do the same for "children" (actually two different hebrew words in v.23 and v.24) and find instances of them referring to young adults. Also note that I'm not saying the traditional English translation is wrong. I'm just noting that this other interpretation falls within the known meanings of the underlying hebrew words as well.

I'd like to know how far the bears had to travel to kill the little kids. Did god send polar bears? Alaskan grizzlies? It must have been one of those mysterious desert bears types that the Scooby Doo Gang might find.

Bears are native to Europe though, and they get smaller the further south and arid you get. (Has something to do with food sources and EVOLUTION!) Where did the bible passage writer live?
