How are you today?

RE: How are you today?
I'm not very crafty, I just try.

I made a cardigan from a long sleeve shirt but I didn't consider the fact that it needs to start out TOO BIG or it will end up being too small. Duh. It was my second try. Not a total loss but it doesn't look quite right, especially since I had to cut the middle out of it entirely to get rid of some buttons.

Second, I'm trying to take panels out of the sides of a children's t-shirt and replace them with another material. Pretty sure I screwed up already but I expected it. I'll have to practice a few times.

I shortened another shirt but that turned out just fine.

All of this, I'm doing without sewing because I don't have a sewing machine. I guess I need to just go buy myself a cheap one. I'm just no sure where to put it and not sure how to use it. Do you sew?

I'm hangin' in. Quiet day at home. I've quite enjoyed J-vlogs on Youtube lately. That is, people from North America (mainly) expatriating to Japan and vlogging about it. I used to want to do a semester abroad at college, but I was never a mature student, so...no. But I am jealous.

I've also been frying my brain with this wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_writing

A writing system with different sets of characters for different things. I mean, that's not too far out. But it just looks like a migraine waiting to happen.

Good day. Worked at the office half a day, then went to pick up one of my clients (seven years old) and took him to the fire station to see if we could get a tour. He got a cool tour around the station (inside and out), got to sit inside the fire truck and ambulance, and was introduced to the crew and chief. Everything just for the little nugget. Lucky nugget. He was happy and says he wants to be a paramedic when he grows up.

I got to look at men in uniform. Good day indeed.

All of those projects sound awesome. I consider you very crafty. I sew. I would absolutely recommend getting a sewing machine. Wally World has some cheap ones or hit up some yard sales. You could also find cheap fabric for a craft that way.

I could never do a semester abroad. But it is fun to watch people go. What are you or did you study in college. I'm awful enough with English grammar. There is now way I'm going to try
Japanese. However you go for it.

I'm very curious how a 7 year old becomes a Client... Anyway... That is awesome he got a tour. I bet I made his day. It would make mine. Also the uniforms would help.

I'm retired now due to disability, but I got an associate of arts (2 yr degree) from Landmark College in Putney, Vermont USA, then transfered to California State University, Sacramento, or "Sac State", where I studied everything from Hispanic Studies to occupational safety and computer science.

Heh, I'm deffo not trying Japanese. Looking at the writing system is enough.

As for today, I'm just getting started. It's about 6:30am right now. Bowl of cheerios and toast with butter and marmalade. Doing OK, though. I had an odd dream overnight that I was at the house of some women's soccer team and helping them with a community car wash, and they were all wearing duckbill hospital masks with their soccer kits:

Like these:

And they weren't sick. It was just part of what they did as a team.

Studying everything is how I feel sometimes at college. That is a crazy dream. Did you eat some weird food?

As for me today I'm trying to get enough coffee in my system to see straight. Coffee
