I am terrified of...
(Like the "I hate..." and "I am sick of..." threads).

I am terrified of anger.

Hights.

I have suffered from a severe fear of hights since I was a little child.

Starting at about 5 meters I start being affraid, at 10 I panic, at 30 I might even start crying.

I am terrified of bees and wasps. Never been stung though so I guess it's paid off.

I'm also terrified of things touching my eyes which is why I've never bothered to try contacts and why optometrists hate me.

When I was a kid, I was deeply phobic of birds. I'm better now, but they still make me nervous if they get too close.

I am not terrified of anything unique. Just spiders. Arachnophobia.

Medical procedures. Needles and other assorted objects they stick in you.

Sorry, doc, one step closer with that catheter and someone's getting hurt (not me). Yes, sedating me is an outstanding idea.

heights and failure; the first I'm trying to overcome, the latter instilled by asian upbringing.

I'm also terrified of heights. Always have been. In grade school I was the only kid who wouldn't climb up to the top of the slipper slide. I finally made it up there and it was OK, but it took me a long time. Now it doesn't bother me as much, like I can stand in the 2nd floor loft in our shop right next to the open loading spot (safety chained, OSHA!), but I definitely do not feel comfortable getting on the roof of a house. I don't mind being up a ladder, but I will not get on the roof of a house, and if it's necessary for me to do so I tend to crawl up there instead of walk around like many people do.

Oddly enough, I don't mind flying at all. I even prefer a window seat. As long as I'm strapped in it's not a problem for me. Now if I were on the wing that'd be a different story!

Heights. I can stand on my balcony and rationally think: "I'm in no danger", but my body betrays me, I get vertigo and my legs become jelly. It's not that bad when I have water under me, though.
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

@Doubting Thomas, I'm quite similar to you in my fear of heights, I crawl when I get to high places but I don't mind flying. I'm not that severe though, what qualifies as high is about 10 storeys I would say.

Do you do well with amusement park rides? I recently got on one that gets you really high up then drops you straight down. I was a mess at the top and it felt like death.
