Basically.
They couch it with horseshit like "life is sacred" or "god wants ..." but the simple fact is that they always want more sheep in the flock.
Kudos and agreed

I dunno about living for 1000 years, but I'd love not to age. I spend a fortune on not ageing. Thankfully, it works so I don't need botox or anything (yet). I don't understand how other people cope with looking older than 20!

We manage, but thanks for your concern and understanding

Honestly, were our life processes extended out to a millenium, we'd probably start taking our time more in regards to personal pursuits, and would find ourselves spending more time perfecting everything we did. And, inevitably, if/when we got bored, we could just simply stop taking whatever it is that keeps us from aging. Our perception of the world change. Maybe for the better.
I imagine the religious, who claim they cannot wait to go to heaven to be with their god and their 'savior' and all that other stupid bronze-age horseshit would, hypocritically, find themselves buying those, say, pills, or shots. "God intended for me to live longer!" I can hear it now...the excuses and squaring of the circle and the rationalizing away the conflicts between what they say and what they do...
But then, I've long grown used to that.
